Pipe Flanges & Fittings for Pharmaceutical & Biotech

High-purity stainless steel flanges & fittings for pharma: ASTM A182 F316L, electropolished Ra < 0.375 µm, CIP/SIP compliant. Quote in 30 minutes.

Industry Sector Overview

Pharma-grade stainless steel forged flanges engineered for sterile process lines, Water-For-Injection (WFI) loops, active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis, and bio-fermentation vessels.

Critical Operating Challenges & Design Constraints

Elimination of internal crevices and dead legs to prevent bacterial bio-film growth
Resistance to repeated Steam-In-Place (SIP) and Clean-In-Place (CIP) chemicals
Requirement for ultra-smooth surface finishes (Ra < 0.38 µm electropolished)

Recommended Material Grade Selection Matrix

Material GradeSpecific Application & Fluid Service
ASTM A182 F316L (0.030% C max)Primary sanitary fluid contact lines
ASTM A182 F304LNon-contact utility clean steam lines
Hastelloy C-276Corrosive API synthesis reaction vessels

Recommended Flange Types

Tri-Clamp Compatible Sanitary Flanges
Smooth Bore Weld Neck Flanges (Machined internal diameter)
Flat Face Electropolished Slip-On Flanges

Quality Assurance, Testing & Specification Compliance

Material Traceability & Metallurgical Testing

Every flange manufactured for Pharmaceutical Industry Flanges is forged from 100% prime tested steel billets with complete melt-heat traceability. Remax Forge performs Spectro chemical analysis, tensile testing, yield strength verification, elongation measurement, and Brinell or Vickers hardness checks according to ASTM A105, A182, A350, and ASME Section II standards.

For critical fluid handling and high-pressure duties, we execute Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing using calibrated XRF analyzers, Charpy V-notch impact testing at design minimum temperatures (down to -46°C for A350 LF2 or cryogenic conditions for austenitic alloys), and grain size examination compliant with ASTM E112.

Hydrostatic, NDT & Third-Party Inspection

Non-destructive examination (NDE) procedures including 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal defect detection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) are conducted per ASME Section V specifications.

Every dispatch is accompanied by an EN 10204 Type 3.1 Mill Test Certificate (MTC) detailing complete chemical, mechanical, and heat-treatment batch records. Independent third-party inspection (TPI) by global authorities including Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL, TÜV, and SGS is routinely facilitated upon project requisition.
