Flanges & fittings for chemical processing: 316L, Hastelloy C-276, Inconel 625 for aggressive media. Full MTC traceability. Quote in 30 minutes.

Industry Sector Overview

High-alloy forged flanges engineered to withstand aggressive organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, and toxic chemical process media across fertilizer, polymer, and fine chemical plants.

Critical Operating Challenges & Design Constraints

Aggressive uniform chemical corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking
High temperatures combined with highly oxidizing or reducing acid mixtures
Zero-leakage requirement for hazardous, toxic, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

Recommended Material Grade Selection Matrix

Material GradeSpecific Application & Fluid Service
Hastelloy C-276 (UNS N10276)Hot contaminated mineral acids & wet chlorine
Inconel 625 (UNS N06625)High-temperature organic acid processing
Super Duplex 2507Phosphoric and nitric acid streams

Recommended Flange Types

Weld Neck Flanges with Tongue & Groove (T&G) facings
High Pressure Spectacle Blind Flanges for maintenance isolation
ASME B16.5 Class 300 to 1500 Flanges

Quality Assurance, Testing & Specification Compliance

Material Traceability & Metallurgical Testing

Every flange manufactured for Chemical Processing Industry Flanges is forged from 100% prime tested steel billets with complete melt-heat traceability. Remax Forge performs Spectro chemical analysis, tensile testing, yield strength verification, elongation measurement, and Brinell or Vickers hardness checks according to ASTM A105, A182, A350, and ASME Section II standards.

For critical fluid handling and high-pressure duties, we execute Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing using calibrated XRF analyzers, Charpy V-notch impact testing at design minimum temperatures (down to -46°C for A350 LF2 or cryogenic conditions for austenitic alloys), and grain size examination compliant with ASTM E112.

Hydrostatic, NDT & Third-Party Inspection

Non-destructive examination (NDE) procedures including 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal defect detection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) are conducted per ASME Section V specifications.

Every dispatch is accompanied by an EN 10204 Type 3.1 Mill Test Certificate (MTC) detailing complete chemical, mechanical, and heat-treatment batch records. Independent third-party inspection (TPI) by global authorities including Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL, TÜV, and SGS is routinely facilitated upon project requisition.

Industry FAQs

Q: How do I choose between 316L, Duplex 2205, and Hastelloy C-276 for chemical service?

A: 316L covers general chemical service. Step up to Duplex 2205 when chlorides or higher pressures are present. Select nickel alloys like Hastelloy C-276 for severe hot mineral acids, wet chlorine, or where stainless steel fails.
